Uncle Sam, in his top hat, blue coat, and red tie is saying I WANT YOU FOR U.S.ARMY Nearest Recruiting Station The famous artist James Montgomery Flagg painted this dynamic portrait to enlist new recruits in the war effort for World War II. This particular image was printed as a beautiful example of four-color printing by a prominent US paper manufacturer, and is printed on a thick golden-cream stock made to simulate a fine parchment. The frame is 7-1/8" by 9-1/8" and is a highly smooth wood with a deep reddish-mahogany tone (1" wide). There are three stepped black ridges which truly enhance the photo and add lovely depth to the frame. There are hooks on the back for using this frame vertically (as shown), or later horizontally. It also has a thick "kick-stand" if you wish to place this wonderful remembrance of Americana on a bookshelf or desk.

This picture frame is part of Russ Berrie Company "Ode To America" series. It is in brand new condition in original box. It is made out of resin. Measures 6 1/2" wide x 7 3/4" high. The frame size is 11 inches wide and 9 inches tall. The frame is hand made of reclaimed rustic barn wood with a raised lip on the edge making it a dimensional 1 ¼ inch deep. Her hair is embroidery floss that has been stitched into place for a fun added dimension. The white star at the top of her hair is a small metal white distressed star glued into place. Her eyes are black buttons glued into place as well. It has been sprayed with a matte finish. It has a saw tooth metal hanger on the back.
