LARGE QUILTED THROW size 54” x 80” item # 126 Top Fabric Cotton: Stars Print: white stars on blue background Bottom Fabric Cotton: bright red My large quilted throw designs are made of high quality flannel or cotton fabric used on the top and bottom sides, with 5oz. polyester batting in between. Sewn together on industrial sewing machines, using only T-105 (9.7 lb.) heavy duty spun polyester thread. The top and bottom ends of the quilted throw binding are created by folding over the back side fabric two times onto the top side fabric, making a two inch finished border. The quilted throws binding top and bottom sewn ends are six layers of folded material. The quilted throws designs are quilted in place by stitching all the layers of fabrics and the 5 oz. polyester quilt batting completely together. I maintain in my design a tight quilting pattern to firmly hold together all of the layers for strength and lasting durability.

This quilt is great for any summer occasion. The front was made using collection of fat quarters with coordinating colors and patterns. Hand bound with double layer of the same fabric as the backing. This makes the pinwheels pop, especially showcasing the white pinwheels between the patterns. I use natural cotton batting, not polyester, in my quilts. Americana Handmade Quilt
Listing is for one vintage ALL americana handmade square quilt measuring 37" X 37". This quilt was purchased and used by me for many years and it came from a local store here in town. It was made by a senior citizen as all of the handcrafted items were there and donated by them and the proceeds wer to support our local hospital. This quilt is all machine made with some hand stitching that was done near the bottom of the entire border and was all hand tied in each of the center stars. The backing has a different material with flying geese. How sweet is that? Pic 5 will show you this. The quilt does have some fading throughout the years on the border, however this remains a sweet little quilt till today! A great piece for your primitive farm table!

The title of this quilt is "United We Stand". Red, White and Blue patriotic colors are in each Dresden Plate block. Each plate was machine appliqued using transparent thread. The quilting is a beautiful swirl that attaches the quilt to the backing fabric. On the back, there is blue diagonal strip in the middle of 2 red strips. It measures 63x76" and has a wall sleeve attached if you would like to hang it on a wall. Moda Fabrics were used in this quilt.

The small label on back states that this quilt was made by a quilting group in Reston. I would estimate that it was created within the past 20 years. The pattern is a variation of the traditional Log Cabin. The size is 42 x 36 inches. so it could be used for a crib, a throw, a table cover or as a wall hanging. Stars & Stripes, Because of the Brave Throw/Lap Quilt
I was inspired to make this throw out of Moda's fabric line 'Because of the Brave', thus how it came to be named. It would be perfect gift for any serviceman, veteran, etc. The colors and fabric line represent all branches of the US military. It is approximately 60" X 75" and could lay nicely on a twin bed, as well as using for a nice cuddly throw on a cold, chilly day.
Quilted "Barbara Frietchie" Star Patriotic Wall Hanging - 40 in. X 53 in.
So who is "Barbara Frietchie"? She was popularized in a poem by John Greenleaf Whitttier over 125 years ago. The historical accuracy is questionable, but the poem describes Stonewall Jackson arriving at Barbara's doorstep and orders his troops to shoot down the American Flag flying from her house. The poem goes on to say that she picked up the flag and waved it out the window - " 'Shoot if you must, this old gray head, but spare your Country's Flag', she said." Jackson, in the poem is quoted - " 'Who touches a hair of yon gray head, dies like dog! March on' he said."

This beautiful lap quilt was made by two friends who love to quilt together. We created the quilt with fabrics from My Mind's Eye's "Stars & Stripes" fabric line for Riley Blake. Fireworks Celebration Patriotic Americana Fourth of July Art Quilt
This dynamic art quilt was created for a fabric challenge. Six unseen fabrics were supplied and the theme was "Celebrate"; two additional fabrics of our choice were allowed to be added to help complete our designs. My idea was fireworks lighting the sky over a town. Fusible applique, free-motion embroidery with metallic and rayon threads, and lots of embellishments helped bring my idea to life. The ribbons are three-dimensional and stand off the quilt due to my technique of twisting and curling them as I stitched them to the quilt top.

I love Patriotic quilts and have made quite a few. So with all of my remaining fabric, I decided to create a scrappy, modern look quilt. Just in time for July 4th. Needless to say, it is made mostly with red, white & blue fabrics. It has two borders around the edge to give the quilt a framed, finished look. The back has an interesting center panel also designed by me. So the quilt can be used on either side. I pieced the front and back and then took it to a professional long arm quilter to stitch the hearts & stars design with variegated red, white & blue thread.
