This Uncle Sam wood sculpture is an incredibly detailed, beautifully crafted, one of a kind, hand carved original by Dan and Debbie Easley. He is carved from kiln dried bass wood and painted with acrylic paints. The piece is about 9 1/2 inches tall and about 3 inches wide. The fine details were burned into the piece prior to painting. The bottle rocket and soap box were carved separately and then assembled.

Here for your consideration I have primitive Uncle Sam & his horse. Uncle Sam measures 14" tall, and his horse measures 9" tall x 13 " wide. Sam is made from stained muslin. His brows & nose are pinched sculpted. His eyes are painted on with water color paint. His hair & beard have been needled felted on with real sheep's wool. Sam's coat is made with blue soft flannel and I added an antique button to the front of it. His pants are made with red and white stripe cotton fabric. Uncle Sam's horse is also made from color washed muslin. His eyes are painted on, his blanket is made from red and blue felt. He can stand on his own.

Hand Carved Wall Hanging Uncle Sam With Display Shelf
I tried something a bit different with this Uncle Sam carvings. I wanted to make a carving that could be displayed outdoors as a Holiday decoration. I started carving and ended up in the direction of a wall hanging piece like a sconce. My Uncle Sam has a flat back with a keyhole slot in the back for hanging on a wall with a shelf for a base. This is fairly large for a wood carving, I carved it from a 10"X4"X4" split on a diagonal post. Repurposed. Save the environment right?
